Detoxification is a term that until recently brought to mind detoxification of addictions such as drugs and alcohol. But today, with the unhealthy diets and stressful lifestyles that most of us live, our bodies are polluted with toxins that can only be released through some form of a cleansing process.
Cleansing is a process that was designed by nature to keep everyone and everything healthy, vibrant, and free of harmful chemicals. In nature, rain cleanses the earth as it pours down from the heavens and washes away the chemicals that are built-up in the air and the water. When it comes to our bodies, our glands are programmed to sweat in order to cool down our body’s temperature. As we cool, the sweat washes away any impurities that attach to our skin and clog our pours. The cleansing process continues as we shower away the impurities that are excreted through sweat. Those who have studied physical training and conditioning are aware that sweat–through exercise—assists in eliminating impurities, which in turn, creates healthy bodies. But what has just recently come to light with the rise of cancer and stress-related illnesses is that toxins collect within the body and our lifestyles prevent us from becoming internally cleansed, even with daily exercise.
This is a lesson that I learned after struggling for two years while trying to find the cause of my sudden health symptoms. After working as an air traffic controller, the stress from the job and life began affecting my health. To treat my condition, I went through two years of expensive, medicated treatments only to discover that the cause of my symptoms had not been permeated. I continued to suffer, and my trust in modern medicine began to dwindle as I started on my journey to search for a cure.
The idea of my condition being stress-related seemed far-fetched in the beginning, but the more I learned about the human body and how its natural processes are affected by stress and our current way of living, the closer I came to healing myself.
Following are just a few suggestions that I discuss with my clients when formulating a plan to eliminate stress:
- To know you want and deserve a peaceful, stress free and cleansed life. It’s important to begin each day in a peaceful manner.
- Start your day with something positive—read your Bible, watch an inspirational program, pray, meditate, listen to uplifting music—do whatever puts you in a positive place for the day, even if it’s only for five minutes.
- While going through your day, if you encounter a negative person or situation, don’t react to the negativity. Pause, think about the situation, and decide if it’s something that you should even worry about. Often, we find ourselves in a negative situation and we insert ourselves into the situation because we’re reacting and not evaluating what’s actually happening. This works with situations that are out of your control as well such as waiting in long lines or sitting in traffic. You have no control over the situation and your initial response is to react, get upset, tap your foot, look at your watch, and complain. Instead, pause and come to terms with the fact that you are not in control of the situation and that you cannot control it. In those moments instead of thinking negative thoughts, fill your body with peace, knowing that it will eventually be resolved. Learn patience.
- Before you go to bed for the evening, make sure you’ve spent at least a few minutes telling someone that you love how much he or she means to you. You can tell God, your child, your spouse, your parent, a close friend, or anyone else in your life who has touched your heart. Share your positive feelings and express what it is that they do to enrich your life. By making this a habit, you will share peace and love with your loved ones and they will in turn pass the positive feelings on to you.
Finding a place in your life without stress could be one of the most challenging tasks you have attempted if you have lived a stress-filled life before now. You can cleanse your body and eat all of the right foods and exercise regularly, but with stress in your life, your efforts will not impact your health as they would if you found a way to live life without stress. Remember, the choice of stress or peace is yours. Make the choice to live a peaceful life today. Your body will thank you!

Eliminate Disease Through Detoxing
Diseases are related to toxicity in the body, the types of food we eat and the lack of nutrients that they contain. Ultimately, this leads us in search of prescription medicines that we take for the rest of our lives to maintain our health. It is estimated that over 200,000 deaths are caused by pharmaceutical drugs each year. People are dying from the medications properly prescribed by doctors and not the illness itself. Part of eliminating disease can begin with detoxing.
One day I woke up and had about 15 little red bumps on me that looked liked chicken pox, but I had chicken pox as a child, it was summer so I thought something had just gotten into my bed and had me for dinner all night. The next day I woke up with about 20 more of these little red bumps covering my stomach area and my legs. That night I changed the sheets and pillowcases making sure that whatever was in the bed was gone. It turned out that I was suffering from a rare disease called P.L.E.V.A. which took me on a journey of confusion and frustration that few could help me with because of its rarity.
Once I started to get the nutrition that I needed in my body to the cellular level and removed several toxins out of my environment my body began to heal itself. Since then I have made it my personal mission to eliminate the confusion of tapping into your optimum health and beginning your own journey.
